How can I get Take and Ship address?

Click the Register button the home page and fill our simple and easy registration form. You will then receive an email with a link to activate your account and Welcome to a world full of advantages

How can I make shopping with my Takeandship ID number?

You need to use delivery address as showing “How do I use this” and how to enter your unique Takeandship TR  address. If you have a question about using your Takeandship address on a retailer’s site, please submit a support ticket through your Takeandship account and our agents will be happy to assist you.

Is there any registration fee?

There is no registration fee for free membership. Take advantage of Take and Ship you can change membership type anytime.

Can I have multiple delivery address?

You can have set up as many delivery addresses as you wish

Can my family or friends send packages to me through my Take and Ship address?

Yes, they can send packages to your Take and Ship address and we will deliver them to you. Please make sure they put your “Takenadship ID” number as part of your address.

Can my family or friends use my Take and Ship account to receive mail and packages?

Unfortunately, that’s not possible. For legal, privacy and security reasons no one is allowed to use the account registered in your name. You are the only person allowed to use your account.

What is Volumetric Weight?

The cost of a shipment can be affected by the amount of space that it occupies on an aircraft, rather than the actual weight. This is the volumetric (or dimensional) weight.

The volumetric weight of a shipment is a calculation that reflects the density of a package. A less dense item generally occupies more volume of space, in comparison to its actual weight.

The volumetric or dimensional weight is calculated and compared with the actual weight of the shipment to ascertain which is greater; the higher weight is used to calculate the shipment cost.

How can I calculate Volumetric Weight?

All international carriers base their rates according to one higher of Actual Weight and Dimensional Weight. Actual weight is the weight of the package when put on a scale.

Dimensional Weight is based on the size of package and calculated by multiplying the Length by Width by Height and dividing the total by a “DIM Factor 5000” So according to comparison between Dimensional and Actual Weight, your shipping price calculated. This method used by international carriers because dimension doesn’t always give actual weight’ for example quilt and laptop will have different dimension and weight.

For Example:

If you have 15cm x 20cm x 25cm box with an Gross Weight of 1 kg;

15 x 20 x 25 / 5000 = 1,5 kg

with this calculation we will find out that your package has a Dimensional Weight of 1,5 kg:

As a result; we will charge it like 1,5 kg.

Why do final shipping rates differ from the shipping calculator estimates?

Because we consolidate your shipment and discard unnecessary boxes or samples that may make your packages heavier. After we prepare your package for shipment we can provide final shipping cost.


Can I send parcel from a 3rd country to Turkey?

Please be aware of your package limit below 150 Euros.

Over 150 Euro goods cannot be cleared by Air Carriers on behalf of the recipient.

The limit of value subject to fixed duty for goods that are imported by real persons via mail or cargo has been reduced from EUR 1,500 to EUR 150. Meanwhile, the customs duty rate on goods imported from non-EU countries has increased from 20% to 30%.
In addition, medicines imported by real persons via mail or cargo and are not commercial in quantity and nature, and whose value does not exceed EUR 1,500, are now subject to: (i) 18% customs duty if they are imported from EU countries; and (ii) 30% tax if they are imported from other countries.

What is the maximum package weight and dimensions?

Each package weight must be max 30 KG. or lenght 120 cm, over it has to be splited. To overweight packages please contact us to get air freight rates.

What if the shipment was received without an invoice?

We will send you a value notification to approve it and you need fill proforma invoice to declare customs.

If I place an online order but receive the wrong item, can I get a special reduced rate to return this item back to the merchant?

We don’t currently have this as a Take and Ship service, however you can return it contact your local international carrier office for details and others

I placed an order with an online merchant a while back, and I have not received it yet. What could be the reason?

There are a number of reasons for such delays:

The merchant did not ship your package, because they couldn’t get the proper authorization from your credit card company for your order. We advise you to contact the merchant for clarification, in this case.

The merchant shipped the package to our address but the package got lost along the way. Contact the merchant for tracking and delivery confirmation or request a replacement or refund.

The package was received at your Shop and Ship address, but your name and account number weren’t printed on the package label. Your package could be stored in the Unknown Packages storage at our facility. Contact out customer services to check the status of your package.

How long does it take for me to receive a package once it is shipped from your facility?

Usually it takes 2-3 working days from Istanbul. Note that this international shipping excludes time for custom clearance

How quickly will receive my packages?

We will ship your package within 1 business day when you request them to be sent. Please click here to see the estimated delivery time to your country.

What can I do if a seller doesn't accept foreign credit card?

Who pays the cost of the return package?

The return package responsibility is on behalf of customer after package leaving Take and Ship warehouse.

You wish to return package while the package is in Take and Ship warehouse. Take and Ship will return your package after collect the amount of service fee and the returned package cargo fee.

Do you send different address than my account has?

Yes, we can send different address, before you submit your shopping please change address box details manually

Will Take and Ship forward my packages to me when I am traveling?

Yes, we can send your packages to you anywhere in the world.

Why is my package not showing in my account?

Take and Ship receives packages Monday through Friday. Our receiving team works diligently to enter your package into your account. The majority of packages are logged in within 24 hours of arrival at our facility. Multi-piece shipments, oversized packages, large quantities of items and packages that do not include an invoice may take longer to appear in your account.  You will receive an email each time we log a package into your account.

Is this a Post Office Box address?

No. Many shops do not permit shipment to a PO Box address, which is why your address will be a unique physical address allocated in our warehouse in Istanbul / Turkey

Are assisted shopping requests returnable?

This depends on the retailer’s return policy. You are responsible for all associated fees. Please contact our client service department if you wish to return one of your items.

What is Delivery Area Surcharge and Extended Delivery Area Surcharge?

Remote areas are generally either less populated or less accessible locations.

For certain remote and less-accessible locations an additional remote area surcharge is applied to cover additional costs incurred.

A Remote Area Surcharge is an additional fee applied by couriers for shipments made to and from locations that the courier deems to be in remote areas.

This means that if the courier does not have a depot near the pickup or delivery address your shipment may be subject to a remote area surcharge.

These are fees applied by the courier and they will show up as adjustment charges on your balance account.



Package & Consolidation & Storage

Can you re-pack my package if the retailer placed it in a bigger box?

We sure can. Please just select our service called reduce packaging. We remove all unnecessary packaging material, and reduce the parcel to an ideal size.

When is a product abandoned?

We will make every attempt to contact you if your package is going to expire. However, we are only able to hold packages check membership status days past the original expiration date. After which, they will be abandoned, subject to disposal.

How long can I store my package in the warehouse?

We allow packages to be stored for max 45 days in our in our Istanbul warehouse.

If you choose to extend this time period you will incur a $1 / pcs fee for every day it has expired, extending your storage for a further 45 days. If you fail to ship out your package in this time frame, they will expire and not be visible in your account.

For instance, if you choose to extend storage for a package that has been expired for 10 days, you would be charged $10 USD.

We go to every effort to notify customers of packages approaching an expiry date. You can find the remaining free storage days in the overview under “My Packages”

What happens if my package has gift wrapped item?

It’s a legal requirement to declare what is in every box for international shipping. Therefore the Take and Ship team will open every package. We will do our best to keep the original packaging

Why do I have to ship within 5 days?

Storage is free for items and incoming packages for max 45 days from the date we receive it. However, once the items are packed into a consolidation, it must be shipped within 7 days or storage fees will be charged. We require this for two reasons. First, we have limited storage in our shipping area, and we need to keep it clear so that we can get everyone’s orders out faster! Second, by waiting until you’re ready to ship to request a consolidation, we ensure that all of our packers are working on the highest priority orders first, and that all consolidations get packed faster!

Will my packages be opened when they are delivered to Take and ship address?

Yes. Take and Ship team will open every package when they are delivered to your Take and Ship address.

Can I collect my package from Take and Ship warehouse by myself?

Unfortunately, no. However, you can contact us and we will send your package to your location in Turkey after receiving the local delivery payment fees from you. Note: you will also be charged a 2 USD per package per day storage fee for your package since free storage policy only covers package that are shipped.

Can I split items in a package?

Yes, if you order same object in one package, we can split them into two packages. There is a 5 usd Fee per package to provide this service. You may send packages to different address as a gift or you may choose to have split item discarded.

How does repacking save me money?

Many stores pack your items in boxes that are too large or not properly prepared for global shipping. Take and Ship takes extra time to ensure all your merchandise is properly packaged for international shipping. Our repackaging service will save you money in shipping costs and also helps ensure your purchases are not damaged during transport.

What is consolidation and how does it help me?

Shipping multiple packages overseas direct from online stores can be very costly. With Take&Ship parcel bundling (consolidation), saving you up to 80% off standard international shipping rates.

Avoid base costs of international shipping with Take&Ship. You don’t have to pay for the base cost for each package. It’s a FREE service that allows you to save up to 80%. The more package you sent, the more you saved. Don’t get the purchases you bought from different stores and pay the base cost for each. When you ship internationally more than one package with Take&Ship, the shipping cost per package will decrease with the increase in the number of packages you send.

What is the difference Consolidation vs Repacking?

Consolidation and Repacking can sometimes be confusing. There are main differences to diverse these two services. Consolidation means that we sending all your packages under 1 order airwaybill number and we do it for free. It does not mean we will put all your packages into 1 box. This helps you to save money instead of paying an order fee for all the packages individually. 

Repacking and Merge is a service we provide for our customers which means that we will open your packages and repack them under 1 or 2 boxes. This will help you to reduce the total weight and dimensional weight which helps you big time with decreasing the total shipping cost.


Customs & Duties & Taxes

Is my package subject to taxes and duty?

While our shipping rates include all shipping and handling costs, you are responsible for all associated costs such as duties and/or taxes incurred. For more information, we advise that you contact your local customs office.

What if I received the item for free or as a gift?

Regardless of how you received the item, you must declare its value. The minimum being $1 USD and proforma invoice should be filled as gift

Why must I fill customs declaration form include item prices and descriptions.
Take and Ship must provide an itemized shipping invoice to the customs agent in order to forward your items to you. The item details you enter when making a shipping request will automatically be transferred to this invoice.
In order to expedite your shipping requests, please be sure the item details (including prices and descriptions) you include with your request match the details of your purchases exactly. If the details do not match, there may be a delay in the processing of your request, or your shipment may be delayed at the customs office of the importing country.
Is the value in USD?

You can fill the customs declaration form TRY, our system will automatically will convert to USD.

How will the import tax or customs duties be calculated?

There are not always import taxes and / or customs duties. It always depends on the type of goods and the import conditions of your country, some goods are exempted from customs duties. An applicable import tax or turnover tax on imports is calculated from the customs value. It is a percentage of the value of the goods including shipping costs.
